The Adept Wireless Programmable Thermostat is a 7-day programmable room thermostat and uses the 868MHz 'Ramses 2' RF protocol, so can replace existing Honeywell CM Series Wireless Thermostats.
The Adept Wireless Programmable Thermostat is nearly identical to Honeywell Home's T3 Series Thermostat (with the exception of not having the +1hr function and no flame icon when there is heating demand, but the user display menu is identical). However, the big difference is that the Adept Wireless Programmable Thermostat will bind directly to an existing Honeywell BDR91 Wireless Relay Box (these are square not rectangular, see note below), whereas the T3 Series won't. This might mean you don't have the hassle of having to get an installer out to fit a new thermostat.
The Adept Wireless Programmable Thermostat will replace the following Honeywell CM Series products:
CM921, CMS921, CMS921B1042
CM927, CMS927, CMS927B1049
CM727, CMS727, CMS727E1016
CM721, CMS721
The Wireless Programmable Thermostat works with the following Honeywell Wireless Relay Boxes:
BDR91
R8810A OpenTherm Bridge
If you have the older 'rectangular' wireless relay box that was sold with very early CM900 Series Thermostats (model numbers HC60NG or R6660D) we advise you to replace the wireless relay box with a BDR91 (or equivalent wireless relay box), as we cannot guarantee the Wireless Programmable Thermostat will work 100% with this product. This is NOT a fault with the Thermostat, this is a known technology issue with older Honeywell relay boxes. See Resideo's August 2021 support article regarding this issue.
