Product Description
Uncoupling/decoupling membrane is installed between tiles and the substrate to prevent movement or cracks from transferring to the tiled surface. It also provides a 100% waterproof barrier. The membrane is 1mm thick and should be laid with the fleece side facing down for optimal bonding.
Suitable for:
- Wood or concrete floors
- Wet rooms and commercial areas
- Underfloor heating systems
- Ceramic, porcelain, stone, or mosaic tiles
Why use a waterproof decoupling membrane?
Building materials expand and contract with temperature changes. Different materials move at different rates, which can create stress and cracks in tiled surfaces. This can lead to cracked tiles, damaged grout joints, or tiles lifting from the substrate.
The decoupling membrane absorbs this movement. As the floor shifts, the fleece layer separates movement from the tiles above, reducing the risk of cracking and de-bonding while maintaining a waterproof barrier.
Typical applications:
Ideal for bathrooms, wet rooms, and commercial environments such as gyms and shower areas. Suitable for use on concrete floors, timber floors, floorboards, plywood, chipboard, tile backer boards, and gypsum-based screeds.
Size:
1 metre wide rolls available in 5m or 20m lengths (covering 5m² or 20m²).
