ROCATEX C2FT S2 Rapid Flex White is a single-part, highly flexible rapid-setting wall and floor tile adhesive suitable for fixing natural stone, ceramic, porcelain, and mosaic tiles to a wide range of substrates.
Suitable for both interior and exterior applications.
Surface Preparation
All surfaces must be clean, dry, firm, and free from dust, grease, oil, laitance, and contaminants that may affect adhesion.
Substrates should provide a rigid and stable base capable of supporting the intended load.
Anhydrite Screeds
Moisture content must not exceed 0.5% or 75% RH.
Remove laitance as recommended by the screed manufacturer, vacuum thoroughly, then apply:
- 2–4 neat coats of ROCATEX Acrylic Primer, or
- 2 diluted coats of ROCATEX Ultimate Grip Primer
Concrete Screeds
Prime using:
- 2 diluted coats of ROCATEX Acrylic Primer, or
- 1 diluted coat of ROCATEX Ultimate Grip Primer
Allow approximately 6 weeks curing time before tiling.
Power Floated Concrete
Mechanically abrade the surface to remove curing agents, vacuum clean, then prime as above.
Sand & Cement Screeds
Prime as above and allow approximately 3 weeks curing time before tiling.
Gypsum Plaster
Roughen the surface to remove laitance and prime with:
- 2 neat coats of ROCATEX Acrylic Primer, or
- 1 diluted coat of ROCATEX Ultimate Grip Primer
Allow approximately 4 weeks curing time.
Plasterboards
Skimming is not required. Prime with diluted Acrylic Primer or Ultimate Grip Primer.
Plywood
Must be minimum 15mm exterior grade, securely fixed at 300mm centres with supported joints.
Tongue & Groove Boards / Floorboards
Must be rigid, dry, and securely fixed at 300mm centres.
Chipboard
Must be minimum 22mm moisture-resistant grade.
Prime joints and edges with neat primer and apply either:
- 1 neat coat of Ultimate Grip Primer, or
- A slurry coat using adhesive powder and Acrylic Primer
Cement Tile Backer Boards
Priming is not required if surfaces are clean and sound.
Existing Tiles & Non-Porous Surfaces
Apply:
- 1 neat coat of Ultimate Grip Primer, or
- A slurry coat
Metal
Prime with 1 neat coat of ROCATEX Ultimate Grip Primer.
Flooring Grade Asphalt
Ensure surface is sound and prime with Ultimate Grip Primer.
Epoxy Damp Proof Membranes
Prime with 1 neat coat of ROCATEX Ultimate Grip Primer.
Underfloor Heating
Switch off existing systems at least 3 days before tiling.
After installation, wait 1 week before restarting the system and gradually increase temperature by 5°C per day.
Mixing
Mix 20kg of ROCATEX C2FT S2 Rapid Flex White with 4.8–5 litres of clean cold water.
Use a slow-speed drill and whisk attachment to achieve a smooth, creamy consistency.
Mix for a minimum of 2 minutes.
Application
Apply adhesive to the prepared substrate and comb using a suitable notched trowel.
Press tiles firmly into place using a twisting and sliding motion to ensure full contact.
For floors, wet areas, external installations, granite, and quartz, solid bed fixing is essential.
Back-butter tiles where necessary to eliminate voids beneath the tile.
Expansion joints must comply with BS 5385.
Check adhesive open time by touching the adhesive bed:
- If adhesive transfers to the finger, bonding is acceptable
- If not, remove and replace with fresh adhesive
Do not add additional water or powder once setting has begun.
Do not apply:
- Below 5°C
- Above 25°C
- In direct sunlight
- During wet or frosty conditions
- Onto hot substrates
Grouting
Allow a minimum of 3 hours before grouting or light foot traffic.
Swimming pools should not be filled for at least 3 weeks after grouting.
Coverage
One 20kg bag covers approximately 6m² at 3mm bed thickness.
